Four of North Ayrshire’s fastest swimmers are taking on the best in the country this weekend at the Scottish National Short Course Championships in Edinburgh.
It’s a return visit to the Royal Commonwealth Pool for Jen Murray, Fraser Kelly and Rachael Grant, who competed at this meet last year rubbing shoulders with Olympians, while Andrew Sutherland is making his debut.
Rachael Grant is heading to the capital city off the back of impressive medal-winning swims at the last West District meet and starts her challenge on Saturday morning with the 200m IM and 100m fly.
Fraser begins with the 200m fly and Jen will swim the 400m free in the first session.
Andrew gets his first taste of action on Saturday afternoon racing in the heats for the 200m and Jen will take on the 200m IM and 50m freestyle sprint.
Sunday morning is just for the girls with Jen in the 200m free and Rachael joining her to face the 200m fly.
Andrew returns for the afternoon session with the 50m free and Fraser completes his programme with the short sprint and the 200m IM.
